WHY PERIPHERAL VISION IS SO IMPORTANT WITH LOUPES
2 minute read
It is important to remember that when you are working on patients you need a wider view than just through the oculars. This is essential to enable the user to be able to communicate with the patient and assistant and generally interact with objects not seen through the oculars such as instruments, computer screen, scans and all the other items around the surgery. It is paramount that patient reactions can also be observed.
ROOF PRISM LOUPES
Roof prism loupes have been around for over 20 years and have never become popular mainly because they block peripheral vision. They were developed because the early TTL loupes were generally being made at a declination angle of 20° which required the head to be tilted down. However as ExamVision has the ability to create TTL loupes with angles up to 40°, the whole concept has become redundant.
